Biography
Walid al-Muallim (1940-2020) served as Syria's Foreign Minister from 2006 until his death. Born in Damascus, he was one of the longest-serving diplomats in the Middle East. Known for his sharp diplomatic style, he represented Syria during some of its most challenging periods, including the Syrian Civil War.
